Derivatives of the blues
always somewhere there in the background. like the distant uncle, slightly out of focus in the corner of a family photo. a musical backdrop. seldom taking centre stage, deciding which chord shall follow. still inspiring and laying the fundament for much greatness. mostly it simply delivers parts of the raw material. sometimes, as in this track, demanding what language to use, which sentiments to dwell upon, which tears to shed. but then again not more than that.
